The Dawson Jockey Club is celebrating the history of the Taroom Cup at its next race day on Saturday 26 September 2015.
On display will be the 1930 Taroom Cup won by Sitti’s Lad (Cagou – Sitti), owned by Godfrey Morgan, ridden and trained by his son Clive and carrying 12 stone 11 lbs. He won from eight starters in the then record time of 1-47. Clive Morgan also rode winners of six of the seven events on the program.
